1. the gift of joy
I've almost finished reading Ann Voskamp's One Thousand Gifts - a profound book that encourages the reader to live out the thanking of God for everything and rejoicing in Him always. And this year, she's adding a new twist to the gift list...counting 1000 gifts in one year and providing 3 specific gifts to look for each day. Dave and I are doing this together with the kids - reading the daily treasure hunt in the morning and sharing about the gifts we found in the evening. Here's the link to her post on the Joy Dare.
2. the gift of tantalizing recipes
I found this blog a couple of months ago. Beautiful photographs, yummy foods to try and a little bit of life mixed in...like this peppermint hot chocolate:

Last week, I shared this tip in the category of simple, cheap organizing. And last week I was excited to discover this tutorial at Positively Splendid a) because we still are buy diapers and b) because I can always use beautiful ways to organize and stash things. Now I'm kind of excited to buy our next box of diapers, but not 100% excited because I still have to pay more money than I'd care to on something that will end up in a landfill.
If you have a "gift" you'd like me to consider wrapping into a 3 Gifts on Thursday package, please email me the details. It can be anything you are hosting or have heard about: from a giveaways to service projects, household/parenting tips, resources, promotions/coupon codes, items such as books, music, movies, etc (ones available for purchase online). If I choose to incorporate your gift suggestion into a 3 Gifts post, I will email you to let you know when it will be featured.
